Hi business friends,
I could use your help with the following text that my dad will be sending out this month. My dad is on dialysis due to kidney failure, his health is failing and and he needs a kidney donor, fast. I want the following message to be shared enough on FB to find a donor. When I wrote this, I realized it was like writing copy and that maybe you could help. You can leave comments on this page at the very bottom as well.
Thank you, Michael Carney

You may not know this, but MOST people on dialysis due to kidney failure survive LESS than 5 years…but the average person has to wait about 4-5 years to get a cadaver kidney.
Hi, I’m Terence Carney and in August 2019, I suffered congestive heart failure and kidney failure while vacationing with my family in Wildwood, New Jersey. While my doctors had been watching my slow kidney regression for years, no one saw the catastrophic results coming. After a late night ambulance ride, I spent twelve days in two different hospital when they finally told me “both of your kidneys have failed”. Now it’s 2021, and I have been waiting and praying for a kidney transplant from the national kidney transplant list. While dialysis can do 10% of the work of a real kidney, it is a very draining procedure and takes up all my energy.
For people like me, a living donor transplant can increase my life expectancy to 12-20 years and prevent the need for dialysis. A new kidney would be lifechanging for me and does not change life expectancy or increase the risk of kidney failure for the donor (National Kidney Foundation). So, finding a gifted kidney is by far my best option.
PLEASE share my story with people you know. You never know who may be willing to offer their second kidney for me to live a more complete life. qTo learn more about kidney donation, visit www.donorcarenet.org/education/faqs/ For more information on donating on my behalf, please contact the Baystate Transplant Department in Springfield, Mass or Lahey Hospital in Burlington, Mass. Thank you, Terence
